The Pulse of Dysonna Emerging Artist Competition

More than a competition…a journey of artistic growth.

The Pulse of Dysonna Emerging Artist Competition is a four-week mentorship experience designed to help artists discover their voice, strengthen their creative practice, and build a successful art career.

For a $40 registration fee, selected artists will participate in a month-long program that culminates in a live gallery exhibition and competition at Dysonna City Art Gallery.

During the Four-Week Program, Artists Will:

• Receive one-on-one mentorship and coaching to refine their artistic voice, style, vision, and creative direction.

• Create an original artwork inspired by the annual competition theme.

• Develop their artist biography and personal story, including why they want to become the Pulse of Dysonna Emerging Artist.

• Document their creative journey through photos and video.

• Learn the business side of art, including how to price, market, and sell their work.

• Gain exhibition skills by learning how to professionally prepare, hang, and present artwork to collectors and the community.

Competition Night

Each participating artist will:

• Exhibit their completed artwork in the gallery.

• Invite at least five guests to attend.

• Meet collectors, gallery visitors, and fellow artists.

• Share the inspiration behind their artwork.

Judging

Awards will be determined through a combination of:

• People’s Choice Award (guest voting)

• Guest Community Artist Judge

• Gallery Owner/Juror
